     The chassis of this Italia needed to be modified to handle the additional torque.  First, the factory Mazda rear end was swapped out for a Thunderbird independent rear suspension.  Eibach springs and KYB shocks stabilized the car while Jackson Racing antisways flatten out the corners.  Enkei 16x7 wheels and BFGoodrich tires (225-50 front and 245-45 rear) complete the handling proceess.  Power is transferred from the V8 to the Thunderbird rear via a Tremec 3550 five-speed tranny.
